Calgary Flames Qualify Nine Players

The Flames sent out qualifying offers to nine restricted free agents today while not qualifying three of them.

By sending out qualifying offers the Flames retain rights to each player should they hit the free agent market. Teams can then send these players offer sheets which Calgary can match, and should they choose not to match then the Flames could get some form of draft pick compensation.

The players who were not qualified now become unrestricted free agents.
