Nashville Predators at Calgary Flames [Game 30]

Published

on

The Calgary Flames four game winning streak will be heavily tested at home tonight as they take on the best of the west in the Nashville Predators. The Predators are rolling along as the third best team in the league and are tied with Colorado Avalanche for most points in the Western Conference. They’ve been rolling along and once again look like they could be favourites to make the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Flames will be incredibly shorthanded with Ryan Lomberg and Mark Giordano suspended and Mikael Backlund is out with a concussion. Austin Czarnik and Dalton Prout are back in as a result. Alan Quine was recalled earlier and will play his first game as a Flame – he’s a fine AHL player, but the NHL is probably above his skill level as he was completely terrible with the New York Islanders.

Mike Smith will get the start after shutting out the Minnesota Wild on Thursday. He’s done pretty well in his last four and may be starting to recover, though is performance for the year is still quite negative. David Rittich will back up as usual.

Game time is at 8:00 P.M. M.S.T.
