Minnesota Wild at Calgary Flames [Game 29]

Published

on

The Calgary Flames are back home as they take on the Minnesota Wild. The Flames won their last game by a score of 9-6 and have more five goal periods than the rest of the league combined. They’ll look to keep that offense rolling tonight with hopefully a bit more defense.

Ryan Lomberg is in tonight for Austin Czarnik. Czarnik scored in the last game and looked good otherwise. This is starting to become nothing more than favouritism towards a player who consistently yields negative results on the ice and it’s starting to become a bit concerning.

Speaking of favouritism, Mike Smith is in net once again despite having one of the league’s worst delta save percentages. David Rittich will get the backup spot after having his worst game all season, though Smith wasn’t really any better in relief – he just got lucky that the Flames went and scored eight goals. These are very confusing maneuvers by Bill Peters.

Dalton Prout heads back to the press box for Oliver Kylington. At least this is the right move as Prout struggled to keep up with a fast Columbus Blue Jackets team. Still, the other moves make this one a bit moot.

Puck drop is at 7:00 P.M. M.S.T.
