Calgary Flames March Madness: Final Four A

We’re in the very final stretches of our Calgary Flames March Madness Bracket today as we hit the first of our two semifinal matchups! Today we’ve the captain vs the future captain!

Results from Last Time:

Quarterfinal C: Dougie Hamilton vs Matthew Tkachuk (Tkachuk wins 62%-38%, will face Gaudreau in the semifinals)

Quarterfinal D: Johnny Gaudreau vs Mikael Backlund (Gaudreau wins 57%-43%, will face Tkachuk in the semifinals)

Today’s Matchup:

Semifinal A: Mark Giordano vs Sean Monahan

The Case for Giordano: Gio has been part of the NHL’s best defensive pairing this season and while his offensive production may be down, his defensive play has tremendously improved. He has been a great leader on this team and continues to be consistently solid every night! Oh captain my captain!

The Case for Monahan: He got the winning goal last night and has really bounced back after a tough start to the season! Has 25 goals and 27 assists so far this year. He’s already got an A on his jersey and is a big part of the Flames leadership core. Oh future captain my future captain!
