The Calgary Flames announced today that they have returned Kenny Agostino to the Stockton Heat. Agostino was a scratch in last night’s game against the Jets – a game that saw Calgary take down Winnipeg by a score of 4-1. Whether or not that scratch was healthy is relatively unknown.

The move means that Freddie Hamilton will stay on the active roster for the time being. Hamilton has a larger sample size in the NHL, though he isn’t touted as much on the Flames prospects list. Hamilton has played 30 games in the NHL and registered one goal and no assists.

Both players had played will in their small stints with the Flames despite not scoring. Agostino lead the team in relative Corsi during his two game sample size and Hamilton lead the team last night. If they continue to show the Flames that they can be of any use, it would be a great help for a team that doesn't necessarily project all that well next season and will be strapped for cash. For now we'll just have to see what Agostino can do down in Stockton.
