It was a week where change was the name of the game

The Heat weren’t all that busy on the ice last week, but they were busy adjusting their rosters after 3 forwards were called up to the Flames in a 7 day period. Jon Gillies was also out of action last week with a minor thumb injury. He’s expected to return this week.

Last Week’s Games

Friday: San Antonio Rampage (Colorado) 4 @ Stockton Heat 1

The Heat opened up their weekend with a loss on home ice to the Rampage. It was a close game for the most part with San Antonio scoring two goals in the final two minutes to widen their margin of victory. David Rittich got the start in net and made 18 saves on 21 shots in the loss. The lone Heat goal came from Andrew Mangiapane with assists from Daniel Pribyl and Mark Jankowksi.

Saturday: San Antonio Rampage 0 @ Stockton Heat 3

The Heat came back strong on Saturday night to split the weekend series with San Antonio. David Rittich rebounded for his first win and shutout in North America. He also made a save on a penalty shot in the 3rd to keep Stockton ahead by 2. Scoring goals for Stockton were Jamie Devane, Tyler Wotherspoon, and Daniel Pribyl. Mark Jankowski picked up an assist in the game to extend his point streak with a beautiful one handed pass to Wotherspoon.

It’s another long week until Friday’s game for the Heat, and we’ll see you next Sunday after hopefully a pair of wins. But hey, anything is better than watching the Flames right now.
