The Calgary Flames return home after a less than successful road trip to the awaiting Nashville Predators. The Flames just finished a 5 game trek at 1-4 with their only win against the lowly Blue Jackets. The second half of the season has been miserable for the Flames so far and Nashville isn’t exactly setting the rink on fire either. The Pred’s are 5-5 coming into tonight’s game at the Dome. The Flames won the only contest these two have played this season back on December 15th, 2-1 in OT. Nashville currently sits in the 6th playoff spot in the West, 9 points ahead of the Flames. Calgary needs this win if they want to attempt to make a playoff push. This game is a 4 point swing and dropping this one would be a devastating blow to the Flames’ playoff chances. Win and you’re 7 back with some hope. Lose and it’s 11 points and it might be time to start looking towards the Draft. It’s the last game before the All Star Break and a win here would be a nice way to end the month. Here’s how the teams match-up:

The Flames last skated on Monday night and dropped a close one to the Dallas Stars 2-1. Calgary had a bad first period and really only turned it on late in the second and in the third. Calgary fired 24 shots at Antti Niemi, but couldn't get more than one past him. Karri Ramo rebounded from a tough game in Carolina and kept the Flames in the game. Here's the highlights:

The Nashville Predators last took to the ice on Tuesday night and out lasted the Vancouver Canucks to the tune of 2-1. The game was tied late in the third when James Neal put his 18th of the season in the net past Ryan Miller, giving the Predators the win. Here's the highlights:
