Flames roster moves: Joni Ortio clears waivers, Markus Granlund recalled from Stockton

First things first, to follow up from yesterday:

Two words which mean Joni Ortio should report to Stockton and become a member of the baby Flames for the time being. Many sighs of relief were exhaled at the news. Now, it’s time for Ortio to prove why he shouldn’t have been gatekeeping for so long in Calgary.

There's a reason he wasn't claimed, folks.

Then, we have this:

The above image from theahl.com seems to confirm it. Whether Granlund will actually play at all, or will be this year’s Tyler Wotherspoon, remains to be seen, but it’s a call that seems much heralded on Twitter.

In short, Stockton gains a goalie who is/should be pretty solid at AHL level, and the Flames gain a center who is having a hell of a year in the AHL, and could be another cog of the machine.
