Last night started well, for 30 minutes anyway. Let's hope that's not a running theme as the Flames make their debut appearance in the Barclays Center against the Brooklyn Islanders.

After losing their first two of the season, a home and home series against the Blackhawks, the Isles have won five of the last six, including three in their new shiny building with the funny-angled seats. They’re no longer the perennial tankers, and are a damn good side. Uh oh.

Don't I know you?

There are no common players for tonight's game, which makes a novel change. Johnny Boychuk is a native of the YYC though.

Game recap

It started well, almost too well in fact. The Rangers came back into the game, though, and the class won out.
