Five more gone, five more to go.

The Flames have announced that five more players have left training camp, with all five being reassigned to the AHL Stockton Heat.

Forward Garnet Hathaway joins defencemen Tyler Wotherspoon, Patrick Sieloff, Kenney Morrison and Jakub Nakladal in making the trip to Northern California.

Hathaway had made a good impression on fans during the pre-season, but hasn't done enough to warrant staying with the side at this point. Sieloff and Morrison have already been sent down once this pre-season, but were called back up to be able to play in Winnipeg on Thursday night. Their returns are no surprise.

Wotherspoon is a slight surprise, but with nine defencemen still at camp, and TSpoon not really standing out thus far, it isn't a shock to see him sent down.

The biggest surprise is arguably Nakladal, the Czech defenceman excelling during the warm-up games, and some thought he would have a shot at the team. He's only a call-up away though, should he be needed.

This is in addition to Drew Shore being waived with the intention of sending him to Stockton earlier today. Furthermore, Joe Colborne is out week-to-week with a broken thumb, and will not be able to start the season.

Remaining at camp are three goalies, nine defencemen, and 16 forwards. With injuries, five more cuts will be needed before Wednesday night.
