According to Darren Dreger, the Flames have filed an offer sheet for Avalanche holdout and RFA Ryan O'Reilly. Here are the details:
Flames offer sheet on O'Reilly: Contract AA:$ 5,000.0 2012-2013: $1,000.0 (NHL) - SB: $2,500.0 2013-2014: $6,500.0 (NHL).
O'Reilly details more clearly:2 yrs ..5M AAV ... 1m salary this year and 2.5 SB ... 6.5M salary next year.
I'm assuming the $2.5SB means signing bonus, and I'm also reading that if the offer sheet has been filed with the league that means it's already been signed and we're just waiting to see if the Avs match it, but I suppose we'll find out soon enough. Colorado GM Greg Sherman has seven days to match or decline the Flames' offer.
This certainly makes tonight's game against Colorado a lot more interesting, to say the least.
