Sven Baertschi confirmed that he in fact playing tonight after practicing with the team on the fourth line this morning.

Tim Jackman and Steve Begin will sit in the press box as Baertschi suits up alongside Blake Comeau and Blair Jones on what will likely be the Flames’ fourth line tonight.

Reaction so far seems to be that if Baertschi is going to play on the fourth line, Comeau and Jones are probably some of the better linemates he could ask for. Both can actually play hockey and are capable of inserting some energy into the bottom half of the lineup without spending most of the game in the penalty box, which bodes well for Baertschi. Seeing as Edmonton's fourth line is likely the weak link in their lineup, Baertschi's line may not see a lot of ice time but will probably be out there against their opposing compatriots as much as possible.

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet”><p>Tonight is a great scenario for Baertschi to be a 4-liner. Decent non-goon linemates, home, meh opposing 4-line.</p>&mdash; Matt Fenwick (@FenwickMatt) <a href=”https://twitter.com/FenwickMatt/status/295228919945252864″>January 26, 2013</a></blockquote>
