Backlund and the Flames have finally come to an agreement. 1-year (called it), 1-way, 725k.
Jay Feaster was quoted as saying that "Mikael has an opportunity to step up and attempt to secure a top two-line centre position with our club. He is a very talented player who skates well, has excellent vision and possesses a strong skill set."
A little odd, considering the Flames were about to demote Backlund earlier in the year. We all know the kid's strong suits - hopefully a full season with some good counting numbers will silence the mainstreamers and people will finally realize the value he brings to the table.
