Go Flames GO
We going to have another legendary thread night like last night? Time will tell my friends, time will tell…
I’m glad you got a pic. I’m counting chances so I won’t be around as much.
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 6:05 PM PST up reply actions
sweet deal for him. how does that work? get yourself there and you can enter for free, or do they take care of transport?
the heat game is at the dome. as a reminder.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:11 PM PST up reply actions
“he’s at the heat game” tipped me off… ;)
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:12 PM PST up reply actions
what you going to do with Moss, Glenx and Stemps injured, didn’t hurt to give him a shot at the bigs to prove himself one last time, doesn’t look like hes going to pan out. Life goes on
I just wish they hadn’t wasted the contract.
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 6:21 PM PST up reply actions
don’t sweat it. babchuk will be turfed in 2 weeks.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:22 PM PST up reply actions
not just irving, justin. brodie slipped on a banana peel and nobody covered him on the point.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:19 PM PST up reply actions
brodie was pinching and nobody covered him. not all on irv.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:21 PM PST up reply actions
wait…did you see that goal? that was huge five hole on a weak shot. it was a two on one and sarich took the pass. that’s completely irving’s fault
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 6:20 PM PST up reply actions
technically there would be no one playing ever
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 6:19 PM PST up reply actions
he’ll be fine. noses leak. did you hear the crowd ?
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:23 PM PST up reply actions
to hold the line, like you asked the team to
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 6:27 PM PST up reply actions
so he wasn’t pinching, just holding the line aggressively ? i just saw he wasn’t there on the retreat
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:27 PM PST up reply actions
we’re not commenting on the other games brah
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 6:29 PM PST up reply actions
Um… Pretty sure his name is “Blake” or “Lake” or something. Jesus is some imaginary guy from 2000 years ago.
Some guy with an imaginary life story.. I think the historical record is willing to admit that Jesus probably existed.
that’s what I was going to say, but you said it better
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 6:55 PM PST up reply actions
I have yet to hear about a contemporary account that’s compelling. In that vein, I really enjoyed reading this the other day: Mark Jaquith.
i was actually gonna suggest this earlier when brodes blew a tire
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:39 PM PST up reply actions
in all fairness its probably hard to keep nice ice when its 20degC out or more most days I’d guess, but still, fuck
it was cold as fuck at bank atlantic centre in florida.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:42 PM PST up reply actions
they better score in the 2nd cause they’ll lose steam in the 3rd.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:43 PM PST up reply actions
it didn’t look like they were balls to the wall there in the 1st, I don’t figure they blew much energy in that period
yeah, and phoenix isn’t exactly pushing the play.
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 6:45 PM PST up reply actions
reporters a so dumb some times. just like the Tiger thing “if no one asks me about my whatever ill donate 1mil$ to a charity, so whats the first question he gets at the press conf”…
to be fair, as a public figure he needs to expect questions about that stuff.
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 6:50 PM PST up reply actions
Sweet, good to know we’re losing to one of the teams we desperately need to beat. Goblairjones, @laurengio, and I don’t even want to know who WI is loving tonight.
you guys, all of the flames except blairjones, and all of my exes except the german.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:56 PM PST up reply actions
well… hate is a bit strong. i’m not loving them tonight. i’m so fickle.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:01 PM PST up reply actions
you asked me to outline who i DONT love
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:01 PM PST up reply actions
course not, I have an inkling how the game would be going (alhtough I am curious baout hte Heat game) ..
I care about my geeky peeps
apparently there’s fuckall people there. and karlsson got run (ran ?) by some dude named helmer.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:57 PM PST up reply actions
also apparently the heat have had a big advantage in possession
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 6:59 PM PST up reply actions
I’m not even going there. You pedophile.
by mike_H on Feb 9, 2012 7:02 PM PST up reply actions 1 recs
Girls can kiss babies without being accused of pedophile… not sure about the tree part.
by d_p_h on Feb 9, 2012 7:05 PM PST up reply actions 1 recs
after last night I was hoping we wouldn’t have a typical boring as fuck Flames game, but I should have known better with a team like Pho
MORNING ?!?! fuck that, what do you think they did last night on the plane ?!?!
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:04 PM PST up reply actions
i didn’t think mikeH knew how to make a gif…. ?
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:06 PM PST up reply actions
team on his back. he’s weaseling back into “i love him” territory
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:12 PM PST up reply actions
i bet the heat game was funner. yeah, i said that.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:16 PM PST up reply actions
i honestly might pass out. i did nothing today other than finish a safety manual… which (btw) was probably more exciting than this.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:17 PM PST up reply actions
I think it might make things more exciting if we just moved the goals up to the blue lines. It seems like they play most of the time in neutral territory anyway.
his ‘style’ is to leave large portions of the net open and have sprawling D bail him out… im afraid, yet still better than Karlsson so far this year
this game at least that is very accurate
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 7:25 PM PST up reply actions
tanguay: “put the full visor on, it hurts like a motherfucker.” one shift later “take the full visor off, i can’t breathe worth shit.”
Fuck, don’t they have Big Macs in Glendale? Even if it takes an hour driving around on the freeway, they should go find one for Olli.
they should just let olli go. maybe the drive’ll perk’im up
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:22 PM PST up reply actions
my fantasy pool is thankful for that goal.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:56 PM PST up reply actions
nope. he fought phaneuf the second after he scored tonight. i presume he turned around and said “suck it phaneuf” and dion jumped him. that appears to be what happened, if you ask me.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:26 PM PST up reply actions
that article actually suggests that he might’ve thrown a suck it. they also suggest he should’ve thrown a d-generation chop. which is why i love PD
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:30 PM PST up reply actions
I know the rogers employees get free ones
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 7:26 PM PST up reply actions
i presume the REAL first line just got off
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:29 PM PST up reply actions
come on Backlund, just score already, preferably 2 times in one night. Andrew Walker needs a nice hot cup of shut the fuck up
maybe glenny can throw a few % his way --it’s not like he’s using ’em
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:30 PM PST up reply actions
Can someone explain why the hell Blair Jones get’s PP time? Furthermore why the hell is that group the first one out? Fucking Butter.
1. i presume the iggy line was out immediately before the PP
2. who the fuck else do we have ??!?!
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:31 PM PST up reply actions
Over Jones? Comeau?… and honestly, I’d throw Brodie out there on wing for a shift and feel better about it.
didn’t you just ask why jones was on the PP ? and now you’re arguing that jones would be preferrable ??!
i am suitably confused.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:37 PM PST up reply actions
Eh? I must have mangled my words somewhere. I meant to say that I’d put Comeau out there over Jones. Although really I think I might just be inclined to put one of the main four out there.
Seriously… someone needs to get healthy pronto if Jones is getting PP time.
i like jones. i don’t think he’s gonna score but he’s doing some nice setup things… but yeah. tanguay, iggy, joker, cammi, gio/brodie are interchangeably on the first unit which leaves pretty much nobody for PP#2.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:45 PM PST up reply actions
I like him too… not as much as Sutter does apparently… I just don’t like him getting PP time. Put one of the 4 fwds they have on the #1 unit onto the #2 unit. It feels liek they’re willfully wasting half their extra-strength play this way.
okay fine, but you still need support players and i don’t see why jones shouldn’t be there. if you take cammy off and put him on PP2, you put him with…. who ? jones and comeau, right?
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:54 PM PST up reply actions
tanguay, cammy, iggy, joker, backs. that’s one extra spot.
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 7:57 PM PST up reply actions
just to be clear: mickis > jones on the PP ? i’m not sure…..
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:58 PM PST up reply actions
i’m not saying he’s NOT preferrable, i’m saying it’s a wash.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 8:03 PM PST up reply actions
you need me to stat up and get your back just like with Flames161, lol not that you needed it on FN ;p
so redundant it’s not even worth mentioning
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:32 PM PST up reply actions
oh jesus. does this mean that the happiest dude on the planet when lamar signed in dallas was actually RIBEIRO !!?!?
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:39 PM PST up reply actions
does it also mean that ribeiro joined twitter to talk to kim kardashian ?!?!
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:40 PM PST up reply actions
more info please cause i MUST know. ribeiro kinda looks like a kardashian. if kris jenner procreated with steve buscemi.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:38 PM PST up reply actions
Hey WI, I just read your twitter. Did Richard Dean Anderson ever get back to you about his allegiances?
no, and he was on today. i think it might take a few tries.
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:46 PM PST up reply actions
makes sense. neither is kim kardashian (*snicker)
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:47 PM PST up reply actions
better then everyone else on the broadcast
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 7:50 PM PST up reply actions
Speaking of which, there wasn’t a lot of wine left in that bottle. I’m going to have to find something else to drink for the rest of the game. Beer machine maybe?
i thought today was a not drinking night ?
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 7:54 PM PST up reply actions
in all fairness he is scandanavian, the 3 times I was over there its almost like I couldn’t find a ugly person, it’s like they’ve all been deported from Denmark, Norway and Sweden to somewhere else?
I like it, all of a sudden the Flames are playing with some spark, cheap shot by Yandle, what a bitch
Hey Justin, stop arguing with WI about whether Jones is better than Mickis on the PP and tell me something: What’s Phoenix relative standing on the PK?
10th overall, 83.6% kill rate. just ahead of us, we are 11th with a 83.5% kill rate
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 8:07 PM PST up reply actions
nah, tippet’s a real good defensive coach. they had a similar %age last year I think
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 9, 2012 8:08 PM PST up reply actions
**i don’t actually know he’s not a christian
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 8:14 PM PST up reply actions
i swear i never see him. i’ve seen jackman and kosto tonight, so i presume he’s playing
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 8:16 PM PST up reply actions
i keep praying some cap floor team will give us like a 7th rounder for him next year, hell, id take just about anything to get him off the books
Blake Comeau makes me wonder, he seems to be quick on the skates, have decentish hands, but it’s like his vision on ice sucks worse than Stajans shot
it’s like players come to calgary and lose their offensive ability
by walkinvisible on Feb 9, 2012 8:22 PM PST up reply actions
Comeau wasn’t exactly light up the red beacon before we picked him up of course. But I agree with the sentiment.
so leland has played 5 NHL games, and the team couldn’t score in 4 of them. 3 go to OT/SO. only 1 was played well by the skaters. only 1 was a shitshow by young irv
Jokinen /Iggy 2 on 1 twice.
Ist time, Jokinen gets a pass to Iggy, flub,
Second time, Iggy can’t get the pass or shot
