I would say yes, except I can nominate one hockey team, which most of us cheer for, that is actually the worst.
I am going to be a sad panda (non-kung-fu) if the flames lose AND the three players my fantasy opponent this week has ring up a bunch of points.
That being said, Hall and Eberle were 10 points combined for me tonight despite Edmonton losing pretty badly..
The dude who put our league together decided that 16 teams and 20 players plus 2 goalies was a great way to make sure that even AHL regulars have a roster spot.
9/10, that one was pretty damn good. and his stock photo makes him look like he’s attended Burning Man many a times. Also, how does he still merit the 2nd line?
I know, I can do the math. Has anyone submitted you to the Guinness Book of records as the “Pickiest Person Alive”?
Wifey just pointed out that Roger Millions looks like he got a sunburn.. I had to explain it’s just how he looks.. I figure he’s a boozer.
oh, two things: first, I was so drunk after the super bowl party we had last night I was still hammered when I woke up to go to school today. I didn’t end up going.

Hey dph, had some nice meals in Canmore/Banff over the weekend. Braised lamb shank at Murrieta’s in Canmore was pretty memorable. And I would definitely recommend the food at the Banff Ave. Brewing Co. in the Clock Tower mall. The beers are okay, but the food is excellent pub grub.
that sounds good, I love lamb.. and braising guarantees no one will make it tough. :)
Never been to the banff Ave brewing co… will have to make a stop, little tired of the drake.
Oh, well compared to the Drake I would always go two doors down and hit the Grizzly Paw for food. This Banff Ave. place is on the second floor above Aurora in Banff. I had a meatloaf sandwich on pretzel bread and G. had a portabello mushroom stuffed with artichokes that was then cooked to become the patty in a veggie burger. Pretty awesome.
best meal in canmore is at a place called “the wood”, fyi. end of main street.

Yeah, I haven’t been since the last couple of ownership changes. Sherwood House used to be a mainstay, but I haven’t followed them through “Bolo” and now back to “The Wood”. Next time I’ll give them a try. They still have a good patio, even if they tossed the picnic tables.
best thing about the paw is the pop, but I’m sure you know that. the beer isn’t the best, especially compared to the other stuff they serve there.

Yeah, I don’t have a big problem with a second house as a check, but those patronage positions have to go.
I’d be fine with that. the argument for keeping it is that it’s used as a check but for something to be effective as a check there must be checks upon it-and there aren’t any. this is part of the reason why free speech is so important, it’s a check on the media as well as allowing the media to check the gov’t

Yes, that stuff is really interesting!! There have been a TON of studies in Finland (…for whatever reason?) that have looked at the abilities of control infants vs. infants at-genetic-risk-for-dyslexia to differentiate (neurally) between words with similar sounding phones (like baak vs. daak). Interestingly enough, at-risk infants had a harder time differentiating between the similar sounds. SO COOL.

Yeah, human beings are pretty unbelievable, when you really think about it. Fun fact – did you know that any accent you may or may not have will be fully developed by 7 years old? That’s why I don’t have a Southern accent, even though I was raised in Nashville… I lived in Washington State until I was 7.

well in all fairness you take on a lot of shit at once, being a writer wasn’t enough for SBNation? You had to jump to FN too? I honestly don’t know how you balance school, several writing jobs and whatever your other job is, no wonder its insane. On a side note you’d need to get drunk just to keep it all together
I estimate I work 20-25 hours a week, write 5-10 and attend school 10-15. drinking and social activities take up 10-15. studying and sleep fill the rest.
