gonna be honest here. there might be more players on the coyotes that i really like than there are on the flames.
i’m serious. doan, langks, korpikoski, pyatt, vermette… :(

jazz: you ever find that statsheet where it says gio played with jaybouw this year ? cause i say it’s ficiton.
I have to go through the scoring chances but I’m still 99% sure I’m right. point is he sucks and it’s not hannan’s fault.
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 23, 2012 6:14 PM PST up reply actions
it might not all be hannan, but i’m guessing you’ll see some sarich/babchuk/butler in there.
by walkinvisible on Feb 23, 2012 6:15 PM PST up reply actions
i’m also saying gio has not been alldat this year. i’m not fighting that point. i’m just looking for reasons aside from “fat contract” and “doesn’t give a shit”

poor corsi against meh comp in not tough situations
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 23, 2012 6:21 PM PST up reply actions
i understand this. but there’s obviously a big difference if he’s playing with a shitty partner.
by walkinvisible on Feb 23, 2012 6:24 PM PST up reply actions
depends a lot of times. see: bouwmeester, jay & lidstrom, nick
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 23, 2012 6:27 PM PST up reply actions
if you’re NIK lidstrom, sure you can carry some deadweight. but i bet lidstrom’s stats even suffer if he’s playing with hannan.
by walkinvisible on Feb 23, 2012 6:28 PM PST up reply actions
the point isn’t that he’s playing with hannan, the point is that they’re playing with partners who are in above their heads and still having decent stats against the best. I don’t doubt that white & butler > hannan but given gio’s situations and perceived ability he should be doing better regardless of his partner.

i agree with you. now. show me where he has ever played with jaybouw.

as soon as I’m done your research on contracts ;)
by Justin Azevedo on Feb 23, 2012 6:32 PM PST up reply actions
contracts seem a lot more work than just finding the website where you saw the stats on jaybouw with gio.
;-)

in other news, i’d like to see the stats on players with lengthy (let’s say 4+) contracts and how their stats compare in the later years. if i wasn’t working, i’d totally do this myself.
If I wasn’t eating a gigantic burrito covered in enchilada sauce I would totally do it.

i think it’s hilarious about the biznasty tweet re: no outlets near the bed. that is often my biggest beef with hotels. i generally unplug the clock to punish them.
i’m also curious which hotel the stars, habs & jets stay at cause i’m pretty sure i’ll be working out of the westin while they’re here and it’d be rad to run into some of those dudes in the elevator.
