Game 43 Recap: 500
Ten Thoughts
-IGGY
-IGGY
-IGGY
-OI OI OI
-Love that Peter Maher, the legend, chucked in a "Yeah Baby!"
-Brent Sutter got his 100th win behind the Flames bench tonight. Who cares.
-Man, the Wild are awful. The Flames iced a quarter of an NHL team tonight.
-FANCY PANTS LANCE had an excellent game tonight and picked up his first NHL goal. He, along with his linemates, were a combined +40 in Corsi.
-Miikka Kiprusoff had a really good game. Clay Wilson, too. Blair Jones as well. Really happy with what I saw in the first game.
-The first two periods were mind-numbing. While the Flames were directing a lot of shots towards the net, they were mostly from the periphery.
If you missed the goal:
And Maher's Call:
Three Stars
1. Jarome Iginla-C'mon, man.
2. Lance Bouma-First NHL Goal.
3. Miikka Kiprusoff-Some excellent saves tonight.
Lastly...
That may be the most fun we'll have watching a game this year. Enjoy it. The Flames' next game is Tuesday against New Jersey.

Finally got to see the game.
Comments:
Backlund is not a product of his line. Kid is definitely a huge reason they are not getting scored on and creating chances.
Blair jones didnt look terrible
Brodie is legit i think. Maybe its just me, but the kid looks extremely solid.
Glencross keeps proving Azevedo wrong. Thats always a plus.
The Wild are as terrible as we all thought.
People are down on Horak, but the kid does alot of things right, and looks better than Backlund ever did at that age.

Probably true. But, we said that last year too and it never really happened, although I’m not sure he was ever at 23% last year either. Even if he regressed and finished the season at last years 16%, which would take quite a slide, he still finish with around 27-30 goals.

for some reason I seem to recall glenx being at 21 at the all-star break last year. I dunno-his case is really strange.

You know im joking right? I dont believe he could maintain this pace either, but i just enjoy bugging you.
I fully expect Glencross to have only 5 goals next year when the coin flips fall the other direction.
