dinner’s at 6 and a night of drunkeness (and possibly fighting with oilers fans at my company) will commence

I’m having a difficult time grasping this concept.

nice, we’ve been trying to build up our supply of wine that is aging for future dates..
it’s one of the ways I know I’m getting old…
I don’t have the patience or money for wine. I really don’t. Give me fancy beer any day. And cookies. Yummmmmmmmm
Speaking of which, I just cracked a winter ale. And have butter softening on the counter for cookies. You really should be my neighbour ;)
It’s seasonal, but not a limited release. This one.
I just blew out the tasting notes with a can of Kokanee. Apparently the beer machine needs to clear out some stragglers.
lttp here, but the wld rose cherry porter was very nice this year

Heh. Well, watching is obviously a loose term. She needs to be able to focus before she can actually watch :)
you’d be surprised… hockey holds their attention pretty early, white background with moving dark bits… good contrast.
btw, congratulations dude… you’re in for a fantastic ride (from someone who is about 2 cars ahead of you on the rollercoaster)
ADvice is cheap but I can’t help it.
We got away from swaddling after about the first week, and he was doing ok… and then after a week or so he started waking suddenly and often… couldn’t figure out what to do, one or two nights of very little sleep and we started swaddling again— he slept no problem.
Sample size of one, but if done right, swaddling can help a lot in my view.
We’ve had a weird experience with swaddling so far. We kept her swaddled for the first few days but she refuses to be swaddled since. Just hates it. Loves flailing her arms around constantly.
Tonight we’re gonna try to swaddle her lower body and see how that works out.
make sure the swaddle is fairly tight.. if they have any movement in their arms, they work at it and that bothers them. If they can’t really move them, then they will settle… especially with sleeping.. Jonah hated it when he was awake.. but for a consistent (and more than 15 minute sleep) he needed to be either swaddled or on one of our chests (I think us holding him kept his arms from flailing and waking himself up)
I have no fucking clue what swaddling is

Just going to run out for some food, but I’ll be here for the first couple periods. Burlesque show at the Distillery tonight, so I’ll have to bail around 10’ish.
that reminds me
my band is playing at lord nelson’s on the 28th
sledgehammer deathface
really greasy metal, should be a good time.

That’s an awesome name. You know, if Justin had a band, it would be called Dickwolf Fuckmunch.

That is one of the worse shiners I’ve seen. And my face kinda hurts every time I see a picture of him.
Couldn’t believe that Feaster said he would have been sent down if not for the Bourque suspension. I know the points haven’t been coming, but honestly…
Cheap talk.. young dude, gonna try and motivate with a little hard-ass talk.
Dangerous, but I think Mickis has responded in the past to a little tough love…
hasn’t he been one of their most consistent players?
I don’t know about that Feaster sometimes.

Wee…
I wonder what the chances of both Eberle and Hall getting hattricks and Calgary winning are. (I have both in my hockey pool)..
oh, I remember it. “8 minutes? fuck me”

Hey guys – just came by to say whooooo Backs – my head would have exploded if he had missed that one.

Pj is arguing Hall might not be able to get his job once he’s done playing if he doesn’t look pretty anymore.
My favourite was MacLean suggesting that Hall’s injury was just like a paper cut. “A bad one, obviously.”
Ron McLean is becoming more of a hard-ass in his old age (or maybe it’s spending every Saturday with Cherry)
Joker hate this year is irrational – you are a Jokerist, how can you expect much more from a 2nd line C on 3 million.

I love listening to Edmonton announcers in games, they get so excited over body checks – “Edmonton has the moxie now” -

I like Gio, but he really looks like he is struggling to regain a step… maybe trying to do too much or something.
came back too early based on what I’ve seen and the rest of the season’s been shit

On second look, Hall would have had a assist on a sure fire-goal but fanned on the pass. Kid will have his career but he hasn’t wowed me like RNH…

Despite all the hype, I do not envy Oiler fans at all in their rebuild. They have no D, no G of note cause Bulin will be gone soon.
I also think they were damn lucky to get RNH because I think Hall may have a ok career but he is not going to be a superstar.
The Oilers could be another Jackets with Nash…

I think they could be something if they had more than 2 D.

I agree. They need legitimate top 4 NHL D until they get it, I can’t see them leaving the baseement…

I hear that shopping their first rounder for a top D this off season is not off the table.
Whatever they do though I hope they do it in typical oilers fashion cause I like the easy points we get from them.

It was a weak goal on Kipper, no issue though. Time will tell, if the Flames can’t hold a 3 goal lead on the Oilers for 15 min – well they deserve to lose.

I have to give kudos to your announcers, they really remain upbeat.
They are like over the moon on that 2nd goal. I wish our guys got half as excited…

But you’d be right anyways, even the ugliest shit gets dressed up with roses.
The Edmonton Oilers, keeping opposition fans happy for the last 6 years
I admire it actually, it takes real support to stay positive in the darkest hours. The way we rake our Flames over the Coals I can only imagine what would happen if the roles were reversed…

always fun to embarass the oil, as I said in a previous GT, since they’ve had so many first over-alls I no longer have sympathy for them..
Neither do I, in fact given the time it takes to develop top rate D they may see Hall / RNH bolting before they can resign them. Much like Jbo did to Florida…

Five points of a possible six is a really excellent road trip for this team. And two more points than I dared to hope they’d escape with.
