Penticton Prospects Tournament-Game Thread Número Tres

Yup, it's game number three.
The embryo Flames are currently 0-1-1 in the tournament, and tonight they'll be facing their toughest competition yet in the embryo Oilers. The 'Nuge probably isn't going to play, which is too bad because this would've been our last chance to freely gawk at his talent before he starts to systematically destroy the team we actually care about.
Joni Ortio is once again getting the start between the pipes (good thing they brought 3 'tendys, huh). 'Twas a much better performance from him against the Canucks, as he made 36 stops and by all accounts looked a lot more comfortable then he did against the Sharks. That's something to be POSITIVE! about.
Patrick Holland, Maxwell Reinhart and Sven Baertschi will make up the first line. They've been impressive thus far, and that's good since those three guys are basically the extent of our forward prospect depth (Nemisz and Bouma don't count-they've played NHL games and Gaudreau's only 17), so watch them closely. Carter Bancks and Joey Leach are the other two I think you should keep your eyes on.
As always, Go Flames Go. GET 'EMMMMMMMMMM

I’m at work but my boss is here so that makes it hard to watch TV. :(

Twitter is telling me the top line is dominating. That’s very, very good. Nice to see the fetuses with the lead too

He probably’s gonna get an AHL contract. Sounds like he’s earned it

Thoughts from Penticton
Wee I guess all it took for a Flames win was me going to a game.
1. SVEN
Holy shit the dude is awesome. He probably had the most fire in his game the whole night. He wasn’t as physical as he seemed in the canucks game, but wasn’t afraid to get into the corners and dig for pucks. Fast, smooth skater, good puck skills. One gripe is a fairly poor shot on his breakaway.
2. Maxwell Demon
He was definitely their goto centre tonight. Didn’t keep track of win-loss, but he was out there for pretty much every important face off.
3. Ortio
Looked better than the previous games overall. One really weak goal near the end. Still seems to slouch a lot, top shelf above his stick side shoulder is pretty wide open.
4. The Defence
The best word to describe the defense overall tonight was ‘meh.’ There were some flashes of brilliance, Martin, Leach, Brodie, Negrin had some good stuff, but all 6 struggled deep in the Flames zone at times.
Bancks, Bouma, Nemisz all looked strong, and Sylvester is really giving it his all. Horak was pretty invisible on the ice, but still managed to pull in an assist.
Disagree. The announcers never said Horaks name alot but I would regularly look up and say “who’s that hustling to the puck there?” or “nice puck battle” and it would be good ol number 51.
I just think they were so enamored with Baertschi and Holland and Reinhart that they were barely calling out other names during the game.
