Thursday’s Hot Coals: The Morning After Edition

Published

on

Regardless of who you blame, yesterday was a sad and depressing day for Calgary Flames fans. A top prospect was traded for nothing near his value, and it’s absolutely going to hurt the team in the long term. So here I’ve gathered the most acerbic and biting tweets from yesterday. Get ready to laugh in spite of yourself.

Here's a taste of what's to come:

@twolinepass

WE HAVE 4 CENTS IN CAP SPACE. DO I SIGN THIS ROOKIE OR TRADE HIM FOR A SANDIWCH BAG FULL OF MARK MESSIER’S HAIR SO I CAN RE-UP ADAM PARDY?

After the jump: morning links and the rest of the tweets.

  • Pat Steinberg tries to deflect blame away from Feaster. We’ll get to that later. [Flamesnation]
  • Apparently hockey is still being played. Who knew? [Nucks Misconduct][Stanley Cup of Chowder]
  • Corey Pronman has the latest evaluation of draft prospects up- and it’s a lot of second rounders. HEY GUYS GUESS WHAT WE HAVE IN EXCESS NOW. BETTER START BRUSHING UP ON OUR JENNERS AND OUR YARULLINS [Hockey Prospectus]
  • Domebeers knows how the negotiations went yesterday. The prognosis in short: not good. [Domebeers]

@azevedoj

Good thing Feaster saved that 960k by not signing Erixon! Now he can use it on Staios!

@twolinepass (again)

ERIXON OR STAIOS OR EAT A WHOLE COW DECISIONS DECISIONS

@artemchubarov

any time you can turn a first rounder into two seconds and a career AHLer – you have to do it.

@rmcleave

Jay Feaster just traded his best prospect for magic beans. I have no doubt he’ll now proceed to eat those beans.
