It's official: Swedish top prospect Tim Erixon is no longer Calgary Flames property. The organization was unable to come to terms with the 2009 first-round pick before the 3PM MT deadline this afternoon and Jay Feaster opted to move him along with the Flames' 2011 fifth-round pick to the New York Rangers for 20-year old Czech prospect Roman Horak and two second-round picks in the upcoming NHL Entry Draft. If he wasn't moved, Erixon would have re-entered the Draft and the Flames would have received one second-round pick as compensation. Erixon's father Jan played for the Rangers in his NHL career and the family now calls the state of New York home.
More analysis to come as we await official word from Jay Feaster and the organization.
