Day 13 – Open Playoff Thread

Wow is all I have to say about the upcoming Canucks vs Blackhawks Game 7 tommorow. The fact the Hawks have come back from being down 3 – 0 in the series is historic. Only 3 teams in over a century of NHL history have ever won a series after being down 3-0 and it has never occurred against the #1 team in the regular season. I still can not process the whole thing. I am not sure at this point if having home ice advantage even works for the Canucks or not, it may actually increase the pressure they feel.

I doubt this needs to be pointed out to anyone but IF the Canucks lose it will without question go down as the biggest choke in NHL history. The Vancouver Sun is already preparing the faithful with this story. 15 Biggest Chokes
Onto tonight, both games are potential elimination games.

Penguins vs Lightning (3-2 Penguins) 7:00 PM ET VERSUS,CBC (HD),RDS (HD),ROOT (HD),SUN (HD)

The Bolts delivered an utter rout (8-2) of the Penguins in the last game in Pittsburgh. The Bolts aim to give the hometown crowd another win and force a game 7. Steven Stamkos did finally show up in this series and now has 2G and 2A on the series. Martin St. Louis leads all players in the series with 4G and 4A.

Sharks vs Kings (3-2 Sharks) 10:00 PM ET TSN,RDS (HD),VERSUS,CSN-CA (HD),PRIME (HD)

Jonathan Quick set a franchise record in the last game stopping 51 of 52 shots for a sick 0.981 SV%. If the same Jonathan Quick shows up for Game 6 the Kings may force a Game 7. Ryane Clowe leads the Sharks and all players in the series with 4G and 3A so far. The Kings have not yet won a game at home in this series and they have to win this one to take it to 7 games.
