Game 29 Preview: Slick Kid

OMG GREG NEMISZ is not really going to do anything tonight. He's got hands, though, so maybe we get lucky.

How fortunate for our beloved men in red that only two days after playing the doormat Avs, they now play the porch light Oilers.

The Flames‘ recent success against their cross-provincial rivals has been documented in many places, so I won’t go into too much detail there. There’s an old adage that you can’t make the playoffs before the new year, but you can sure fall out of the race. Thus, it’s yet another must-win game against a team ahead of them in the standings.

The Oilers have a game out of hand on the Flames and are three points up. They've come back to earth in recent weeks, with ReKhab's SV% dipping from ~.955 to .933.

Andy Sutton’s been suspended 8 games for his hit on Alexei Ponakrovsky, so that’s a hole in the blue line-if not because of skill, then definitely because of size.

Edmonton's playing the second game of a back-to-back tonight.

Players to Watch

Jay Bouwmeester-Will likely face retribution for his cross-check on Shawn Horcoff last Saturday.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins-The kid might play for the enemy, but shit he's good.

Lastly

Come on. It's the Oilers. We all know that that means.
