Mikael Backlund broke his finger in practice on Sunday and will be out for up to six weeks. Not exactly the start to the season that the Flames were hoping for.

Backlund was slotted to start the season on the top line between Jarome Iginla and Alex Tanguay. David Moss has been shuffled over to the top line to play in Backlund's place. The remaining lines at this point in time are:

Curtis Glencross - Olli Jokinen - Lee Stempniak

Niklas Hagman - Roman Horak - Rene Bourque

Tom Kostopoulos - Matt Stajan - Tim Jackman

Brent Sutter will shuffle lines at will but as it stands now these are the lines. Brendan Morrison was recently cleared for contact and Raitis Ivanans and Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond are also waiting in the wings.
