Columbus want veteran D ?

I see that Columbus is considering acquiring Kevin Bieksa. Filatov for Bieksa Rumour.

Is there any way that they might want to consider Cory Sarich instead ? I'd rather say Staios, but I'd think that having Scott Howson laugh in my face, might do little harm to future credibility !!

I don't know about Filatov - if they insist on being rid of him, I'd take a chance, but at this point a 2nd rounder would be more than adequate.

Canuckleheads can dream all they want, They’re not getting Filatov who was terrible in the Hitchcock system but should excel in the Arneil system.

And for one why would Howson even consider giving up their best prospect for a defensemen that cuts his calf with his own skate.

Sarich for mid pick & prospect do it up.

Shit, given Filatov’s upside….I may even through Regehr out for him. Can’t believe Columbus would move him though.

I think Columbus is a team needing one big body on the back end and a centre for Rick Nash. They get that they should be a playoff team.

But I think they need Filatov to help that cause.

Rick Nash: Iggy of Columbus

Yep

18 more goals than Iggy through his first 7 full season – just 4 NHL playoff games – Iggy had 2 playoff games in his first 7 years.

Thats my biggest fear for Nash
he is one of the best playing right now imo and his team seems to be whats holding him back like Iggy
i really hope the flames with atleast try pull a boston/bourqe kinda thing and let iggy go sign with a contender if we can’t get him his cup soon it would be a terrible shame to see Iggy miss out on the HOF because calgary couldn’t get him a supporting cast

3 more years

Iggy will complete or just about complete this current contract of 3 more seasons. If they are not competitive in that year – then they might do a Bourque for him. That, however is a long way away.

I would bet a fair bit of money that Iggy is pretty much guaranteed entry regardless of whether he gets one or not.
