KOTALIK MY BALLS, I AIN'T JOKINEN!!!
(Nothing really new here, just wanted to write that headline. Wow. Compared to Ales Kotalik though, he is a steal!)
If indeed we are buying out Ales Kotalik, which I believe will be 1 million per year against our cap for the next 4 years, allow me to ask...WHAT THE F&@K?!?!?! (excuse my French)
Career stats with the Calgary Flames:
26 games: 3g 2a 29 pim
Woooo, my slipping faith in Darryl has been restored!! Brilliant!!! ARGHHH ARGHHGHGH ARGGGHGHGHGH!!!
Oh, apparently this has to be 75 words long.
ANIMALLLL!!!
HULK SMAAAASHSHHHH!!!
WOCKA WOCKA WOCKA!!!!
*Edit: Just wanted to add this in:
So, breaking this insane sequence down as it stand right now…
Calgary gets:
1 million cap hit annually for four years
Calgary gives up:
Matthew Lombardi, Olli Jokinen, Brandon Prust (twice), Jim Vandermeer (thanks PrairieStew) and a 1st round pick (Brandon Gormley).
Craze.

Kotalik my balls
the one good thing to come out of the acquisition of said player.
two wrongs
Well in this case 3 wrongs don’t make it right.
1. Acquiring Jokinen
2. Trading Jokinen and his expiring contract for Ales – the $6 m liability
3. Buying Kotalik out and extending the salary cap pain until 2014
End of June, I still can't stand Daz.
"Where do you go from here, Dion?" "I go to Toronto."
Spreading that Calgary Flames, Montreal Expos, The U, and Orlando Magic love.
If/when I get round to creating a glossary of Flames terms commonly used at M&G, “Kotalik my balls” will be the first entry.

Actually for that price, Calgary got:
80+ games of Olli Jokinen, relieved of his contract for the final third of last season, 30ish games of Chris Higgins (potentially more) and Jay Bouwmeester as the third round pick the Coyotes sent us was directed to Florida for that deal.
Then the cash put towards JBo was the cash that should have been meant for Cammo. Overall, I think the deal was a net negative.

Judging from hindsight is easy. After the way he flamed out to end the 08-09 season and the playoffs, there is no way I would have given Cammalleri $6 million a season either.
Besides, Cammaller or Bouwmeester is the wrong comparison. The proper one was Cammalleri or Jokinen.
Well, that choice is easy as shit…even if you had asked me on April 15th of last year, I would have still chosen Cammalleri. Granted, like you said, not at 6 million, but at 5.5 or 5 I would have much rather had 13.
