Well… I guess they’ve got to at least make an attempt to fool their fans into believing that they’re not spending 6.5M in Cap space on a defensively lazy blueliner with an (Admittingly hard) high and wide slap shot.

About as much as Phaneaf helped ya’ll not be the 2nd lowest ranked team in the NHL. No matter I’m sure the Bruins will enjoy having whichever one of Hall or Seguin they get to choose. Enjoy the 6.5M Cap Eating middle pairing d-man. :)

Trust me you’ll come around to how we came around once your games start to matter and your season not a foregone conclusion.

Apparently picking the captain was going to be this long detailed and rational process…and then they give it to a guy that was in the locker room for less than 2 and a half months. Beauchemin and Komisarek must really be some first rate duds if they couldn’t pass that test. Enjoy the drought record.

Exactly. 20 games is not a very large sample size. Dion may very well go back to the Norris canadate he once was-I just don’t see that happening with Wilson though.

I’m not sure why it is that I seem to spend more time defending my team against Leafs fans than Canucks/Oilers fans. We don’t need you to tell us that the Flames are in a bad spot just like you don’t need us to poke fun at you about 1967; we’re perfectly capable of observing that one on our own, thanks.

And for the record, I’m pretty much neutral on Phaneuf for captain.

I’m just thrilled to watch the train wreck happen. IMO this was all about jersey sales and marketing more than anything. Flames fans know for a fact, Jonathan Toews he (Dion) is not.
