In the NHL, the Penguins take on the Habs at the Bell Centre (CBC) as both teams duke it out for the series lead, while the Sharks visit Joe Louis Arena where the Red Wings will try to make a dent in a 2-0 Sharks lead (TSN). Bill Guerin and Jordan Staal will sit for the Pens, while it was announced today that Habs defenceman Andrei Markov will be out indefinitely with a torn ACL. The Sharks are healthy and Patrick Eaves is out for the Wings. Elsewhere, the Hitmen look to take a commading 3-0 lead in their series with the Tri-City Americans (7PM on The Fan 960 & 8PM on Shaw TV) and the Heat try to regain the lead over the Hamilton Bulldogs in game three of their series back in Abbotsford (8PM MT, 7PT on country1071.com). The Heat are still without Staffan Kronwall and Tyler Spurgeon, both of whom were injured in game two.

Enjoy tonight's games everyone.

All that matters is that the teams most likely to beat Vancouver at some point in these playoffs won tonight.

They haven’t been good at home so far in these playoffs, but I think they were a better road team all season, if I remember correctly. Hopefully they’re able to bounce back again.

I hope the Hitmen complete the sweep over the Americans tonight. That should give them plenty of time to rest up for the Memorial Cup. I’m sure that Brandon is itching for another crack at them.

Also, I hope that Chicago gets ahead of the ’Nucks early and quiets the crown down a little.

One thing I wanted to add was Canada beat Germany 4-1 in an Exhibition Game.

Rene Bourque had a goal and two assists.
