PrintAs the Flames won't be participating in the second season, fans of non-playoff teams have the blessing of watching 16 teams beat the crap out of each other for the holiest of grails in the professional sports.
So lets hear your predictions for the first round predictions and I'll have standings put together after the first round, please state your picks for each series including the number of games it will take for the series to be completed. For those who need a reminder here are the 8 matchups.
Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
#1 Washington vs. #8 Montreal
#2 New Jersey vs. #7 Philadelphia
#3 Buffalo vs. #6 Boston
#4 Pittsburgh vs. #5 Ottawa
Western Conference Quarterfinals.
#1 San Jose vs. #8 Colorado
#2 Chicago vs. #7 Nashville
#3 Vancouver vs. #6 Los Angeles
#4 Phoenix vs. #5 Detroit
If Needed - The Tiebreaker series will be Phoenix vs. Detroit if more is needed Pittsburgh and Ottawa will be used.
So let's see out of M&G is the best prediction guru.

2. Chicago over Nashville in 7 (I so lack the balls to pick Nashville, but really want to)

I know I picked the Kings over the Nucks because I really like the Kings. Hell, they took Gretzky away from the Oilers- they’re okay in my book.
Seriously though, the Kings have some of my favorite non-Flames: Brown, Kopitar, and Scuderi. Also, I was a huge Robitaille fan back in the day. Plus they don’t have Luongo in the playoffs.

A lot of teams there
not likely to win with it but you might get a lesser prize (if those exist in your pool).
I know. I couldn’t decide on what teams to stick to and since I drafted 10th I had to choose between going with lesser players on teams I had already chosen or better players on other teams that nobody else had chosen. Absolutely no strategy involved here. Definitely not expecting to win, but I think it could have potential.
