Greatest Hockey Entrance Video?

Greatest entrance video in all of Hockey I think so. The University of Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks.

This is the official UAF Hockey Open from the 2009-2010 season for the Alaska Nanooks. This video was commissioned by the University of Alaska Fairbanks and runs at Carlson Center home games on their jumbotron.

It said I had to come up with 75 words so what are some of your favorite entrance videos and if the Flames were to change their entrance song from Spitfire by Prodigy what should they change it to?

“Flames Go Higher” by Eagles of Death Metal. This song is awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTVsGijzB-A

this one always gives me chills. the first time i heard it (at the excel centre), i thought it was kinda cheesy but two nights later at another game, i was sold. it’s the kind of classic that will never age…..

on the other hand, i think i might have described the perfect current flames anthem over at my place yesterday.

hahaha did that polar bear just destroy Earth to play hockey?

that’s the kinda heart we need.

In light of the Flames’ current meltdown – I believe this would be suitable.

*If not at the beginning of each game …. play it every time Calgary sends their PP unit on the ice ……

I’ve always thought cowboys from hell by pantera would be a great flames intro song

Flames Entrance Song

The first 1:15 of “Magnificent” by U2. There’s a bit of Alan Parson’s Project/Chicago Bulls about the beginning of this song. Could be a classic if done right. Hate the Canucks, but the U2 opening they had at GM Place was good (unfortunately).

That was the dumbest thing I have ever seen. This is what happens when you have access to CG graphics and no access to actually good ideas. I saw: 1. The bombing of other universities 2. Blowing up Earth 3. Chopping a boat in half with a slash 4. “Highway to the Danger Zone” 5. exploding pucks and nets. 6. The Coca-cola bear mascot on the rage virus.

Cheesy, so f*ing cheesy.

WI’s Minnesota Wild one is not the best, but it is much much better.

i agree. i refuse to watch it again, but i’m pretty sure they have a couple seconds of laura branigan sampled, just before the danger zone music starts up. laura branigan ? REALLY ?

Yeah that’s Laura Branigan haha

It’s
Sirius – Alan Parson’s Project
Self Control – Laura Branigan
Danger Zone – Kenny Loggins
Enter Sandman – Metallica

Just for anyone that didn’t know.

Is that Delivery? No it's Giordano.

That Nanooks video is amazing. Who needs to defeat your opponent on the ice when you can incinerate their campus and then destroy the entire Earth just for the heck of it?

In regards to opening songs for the Flames, I vote for the following. It’s already got a video and everything:

In all seriousness, though, I’m a big fan of the current song (Spitfire). It provides a perfect balance of energy, aggression, and anticipation. Plus, it has the name “Fire” in the title. How can you go wrong?
