There could be a new French Connection in the works, as RDS is reporting that the Tampa Bay Lightning have agreed to terms of a contract with Alex Tanguay pending a physical.

There go the dreams of getting back Tanguay for cheap. Long shot, I know.

It'll be interesting to see how much he signed for. Suddenly Tampa Bay doesn't look too bad...

I read on CalgaryPuck (blech) that Eklund (blech) is reporting just over 2M a season.

That kind of price would be an unquestioned bargain if true. Oh, well, it’ll just make trading for him that much more affordable when Tampa has another fire sale at the deadline ; )

Hearing about $2.6 million from John (@ Raw Charge)

That said, it is still only RDS reporting this, and they are the National Enquirer of the hockey media.

Still, 2.6 million or not, I figured it was a long shot to get him in Calgary (as did most I think) and the idea of him going to Tampa sits much better with me than going to Minnesota.

D for 3 and now goal for 21 years, of course I'm a goaltender apologist.

Yeah. It’s good news the Wild didn’t land him for sure.

I should say, this is slightly disappointing but not so much as losing him last season.

Could you imagine the PVP unit we could put together right now were he still here? Tanguay-Langkow-Iginla-Regehr-Bouwmeester. Yikes.

He wasn’t that fantastic (for the dough) when he was with Calgary and he apparently hated it.

1 year / 2.5M (capgeek).
