Around SBN: The Animated GIFs Of January

In the final week of the regular season, Phaneuf tore a muscle in his back. He also admitted injuring his sternum during the playoff series against the Chicago Blackhawks, but speculation that he had been playing hurt wafted around the Pengrowth Saddledome long before that.

No surgery was required for his sternum injury and after a summer of rest and relaxation, he's ready to get back on track.

No surgery for Dion this off-season.

so lemme just get this straight:
-he tore a muscle in his back and yet was still allowed to play when he flew himself to vancouver ?
-he played a game or 3 with an injured sternum (and a torn muscle in his back) and keenan still gave him 25+ mins ?
-no word on this mysterious “hip ailment,” or any surgery on that either…. jeezus. i’m scared for him, then.

Player mismanagement for sure.

He didn’t comment on any of the ‘reported’ injuries, but its clear there’s no surgery – which is good news.

It’s strange he never mentions anything about his hip….maybe because he’s only public with injuries that are healed?
