Is anyone really surprised?

I was just waiting for this to drop. And, say he broke his leg in Game 2? They’d bring in someone to replace him. No point in bemoaning it, it’ll never change.

Nonsense, however persistent, will forever earn my jeers.

I’m rather surprised you’d even give hockeybuzz the recognition.

Naturally I wouldn’t if 1.) it was Eklund and 2.) it didn’t seem plausible given Sutter’s past summer activities.

Heh, true enough. I just think the fraud that runs the site taints everyone who participates.

As far as this invention goes, if we want a goon, we might as well just re-sign Roy. He wont cost anything, good in the dressing room, and he knows he wont play in a lot of games.

The ostensible reason for a goon is a guy who can fight other goons (I think…the reasoning behind signing these guys gets fuzzier all the time). Roy is all the things you say, but a lousy, lousy fighter, meaning signing him would be even more useless I’d say.

As for me, I still say ditch the enforcer.

Frankly, with Iginla, Regehr, Phaneuf, Prust and a couple other guys, we really have no need for an enforcer. It’s not like they will be running around fighting every game anyway.

I agree. The team isn’t filled with milquetoasts. They aren’t in need of a protector.

ugh.
this is a CLASSIC darryl sutter summer: a slew of great signings followed by the most ridiculous of ridiculous.

(i guess this solves the andre roy predicament….. at least mcgratton has a chance at actually winning a fight, but will unfortunately need to be dressed and on the ice to do so….)
