"Calgary is definitely the place where I became my own player," said Seabrook, pointing out that his on-ice style isn't totally unlike his brother's. "I think we're very similar. We both make a good first pass. We both have really good shots from the point. I've learned lots from him. So we've evolved over the years into a similar player."

Odd decision making by Washington, it seems. How does a team simply give up on a 2nd round pick who had an outstanding season in junior, albeit at age 20, like that?

I don’t know. In reading through some comments at Jaspers Rink, it seems that WAS has a lot of defensive prospects that are considered better bets than Seabrook. Still seems like an odd move to me though.
