I don’t look at the trade for Cammalleri in that context, btw, because there’s no way Sutter moves that pick if he doesn’t have the 25th pick – for -Tanguay deal in his pocket. That was really a player swap in practical terms.

On the whole, technically Sutter gave up a first and second for Cammalleri, who will only be here the one year, but he also got a pick of each back in the Tanguay trade. Net result: a wash.

Potentially gave up a 2nd for one year of Leopold, if he does not re-sign.

Unless I am missing some deals that involved first our second rounders, this commenter is full of shit. At most, we’ve given up two firsts and one second for players thst stayed <1 year, and that is only if you give the Cammalleri technicality. In truth, we’ve only given up the 2nd for Leopold, if he does not return.
