Peter Laviolette too?
Acording to local radio reports, the Flames have also secured Stanley Cup winner Peter Laviolette as an associate coach.
If true then...wow. This week going forward is an interesting time for Flames fans. Was this move (hiring two established NHL bench bosses) a response to the Oilers picking up both Quinn and Renney?

Wow...
…just, wow! Not ‘wow, great’, although I think this is pretty good. More “wow, NEVER saw this coming”. If true, then this is a great direction for the Flames, I think, and maybe evidence that we all really have no idea how Darryl Sutter thinks.

To be fair, this is even more “rumor” than the Sutter news and nothing has been officially confirmed.

You know, if you can’t spend money on players, you might as well beef up the org. Unlike the situation in Edmonton, if Brent comes in as the boss Laviolette won’t be waiting for a retirement to move up. Maybe good coaches are seeing this as a way to stay in the loop, rather than clogging up a chair at TSN.

No confirmation yet, so looks like this may have been hot air.

This sounds like something someone at HFBoards made up and attributed to random radio station X.

Apparently that’s the story. Odd thing to do.

Not really. HFboards is legendary for that kind of nonsense.
