Langkow's back, but why VDG?

As per the Herald, Daymond Langkow is back for the Flames. The shame of it is Van Der Gulik gets the short straw. He's played very well in his limited time up. In fact, he looks like the kind of useful 4th liner that the Flames could use even with a healthy lineup. His Corsi numbers are excellent, and he was a full value contributor in Atlanta, which more than a few other Flames couldn't say.
