Another one about Miikka Kiprusoff: Former coach/assistant Jim Playfair once saw him driving behind a gravel truck on Deerfoot Trail. Stones were flying onto his car. Playfair later asked why he didn't switch lanes. Kiprusoff said he pretended they were pucks and was trying to catch them.

Yeah well… you gotta figure that anyone who thinks that standing in front of a piece of fast moving galvanized rubber is a wise career choice has to be at least a little off.

That just made my morning!

Thanks for posting the quote Kent. Hilarious. Does anyone know what car Kiprusoff drives btw?

LOL

Great stuff, Kent.
BTW- I’m a first time commenter, long time reader. Love the pieces on this site, so I am very excited to join the community. Currently a sociology grad student at U of C, been a Flames fan since the Cup Run 2004. Looking forward to enjoying games round these parts!

Good stuff, thanks for signing up.

Incidentally, I have a degree in psychology from the UofC, so perhaps we can discuss social (pseudo) science at some point!

Wow Kent, I would have thought you were a math or engineering major with the way you throw stats at us lol.

haha, nope. In fact, I was never very partial to math in school. They did force us through a couple of stats courses during my degree though.

More Kipper Comedy:

Miikka Kiprusoff on why Finland produces so many great goalies: “They have bad defenceman.” Funny guy! – http://is.gd/5oZ0b

It is at the very end of his interview with Peter Maher.

I really think his sense of humour is under-rated!

Kipper’s as dry as Britishman when it comes to his humor.
