"I think I have seven or eight times I hit the post so far this year, if half of those would’ve gone in, nobody would be questioning anything,"

Looking for a scapegoat are we, Mr. Jokinen?

Has he really hit eight posts this year? Damn.

A bit presumptuous of him to think nobody would be questioning anything if he had scored 4 more goals. But the talk radio crowd would probably not be complaining as much.

And for the same (wrong) reasons they are complaining so much about him now. Goals, baby!

Even that’s a shaky premise. If he had six goals rather than two, would people be satisfied with that kind of output for $5.25M? I doubt it.

They might not be satisified but his (now) 7G & 9A for 5.5M would look better then Langkows 11P for 4.25M. A 25G for the season pace would certainly be more in line with expectations (which is basically 30G as far as I’m concerned). Sure it’s not accurate to say that “nobody” would question anything but if you take that to really mean “a lot fewer” then I think it’s a fair statement. No need to nitpick over semantics.

Yes, well…let’s put it this way: if the exact same performance by Jokinen over the first 20 games somehow resulted in him leading the Flames in scoring, I’d still be calling him a disappointment.

Matt Fenwick has broken out the “jeans model” designation for Joker. That’s not a compliment

At least he’s better than Horcoff.

So far from the truth, not even over these first 20 games where Horcoff has been hobbled and strugglng. I wold take Horcoff over Jokinen on this team ten times out of ten.

I’d take neither, myself.

Olli Jokinen … come on buddy. Does he know how many posts Patrick O’Sullivan has hit? He hit 3 alone in the game against Buffalo. And I swear to god he must hit at least one per game. Don’t believe me? Ask any other Oiler fan. If Jokinen is “snakebitten” by hitting the posts then O’Sullivan is “snakedigested.”
